New Year's Eve City Park Toast Run

To my running friends:

I make it to be the 11th annual if you count the time that I shared a brown bag of champagne with Bedford. In past years we have eaten pretty well with rack of lamb, sushi, oysters on the half shell, shrimp, caviar and satay. Even the bratwurst was well received counting by the lack of any leftovers. Last year we were catered by a Cordon Bleu trained chef (currently unemployed - anyone have a contact at a Michelin Guide starred restaurant that is hiring? - tough market out there.) So, in short, you have been coddled as well as well-fed. Well, I won't that mistake this year! In these times of economic strife, you will be lucky if you get a PBR and a stick of beef jerky.

Where: City Park, by the kids swing area near the west end of the duck pond.
When: Friday December 31, approximately 12:20 pm (it takes about 24 minutes to run the usual route from the Y)
What: A toast to celebrate another year of friendship and of running together.
Who: You and anyone else I may have inadvertently missed who has run with us (I don't have a complete list of e-mail addresses. Please feel free to pass this invitation along.)
Why: Why the hell not? Besides, I think we had another good year

The only thing I ask is that you please respond by close of business Tuesday the 27th, if you are coming and how many guests you are bringing (friends and family welcome) so that I can have an approximate head count. And please let me know if you have any food allergies. (Yes, Scott, I know you crave shellfish.) I expect that most of you who attend will run from the Y (meet at 11:50 as usual), although a couple of you have already said that you are off that day and will be coming from home. Don't wait for me as I will drive out to set up in advance. I look forward to it as always.

Dave
