10th Annual Happy New Year's Eve Noontime Toast - THURSDAY DECEMBER 31 - "The Cordon Bleu Comes to City Park"

To my running friends:

I make it to be the 10th annual if you count Charles and me swigging champagne out of a paper bag the first year. In past years we have eaten pretty well with rack of lamb, sushi, oysters on the half shell, shrimp, caviar and satay. Even the bratwurst was well received counting by the lack of any leftovers. As some of you know, my daughter Lisa is attending the Cordon Bleu cooking school in Paris. She is home for Christmas break and has agreed to prepare something. What, I don't yet know, but I am pretty confident she won't disappoint. Where: City Park, by the kids swing area near the west end of the duck pond.

When: Thursday December 31, approximately 12:20 pm (it takes about 24 minutes to run the usual route from the Y)
What: A toast to celebrate another year of friendship and of running together.
Who: You and anyone else I may have inadvertently missed who has run with us (I don't have a complete list of e-mail addresses. Please feel free to pass this invitation along.)
Why: Why the hell not? Besides, I think we had another good year

The only thing I ask is that you please respond by close of business Friday, the 25th, if you are coming and how many guests you are bringing (friends and family welcome) so that I can have an approximate head count. And please let me know if you have any food allergies (not because I'll do anything to cater to them; it will just be one more thing I can use to make fun of you. Yes, Scott, I know you crave shellfish.) I expect that most of you who attend will run from the Y (meet at 11:50 as usual), although a couple of you have already said that you are off that day and will be coming from home. Don't wait for me as I will drive out to set up in advance. I look forward to it as always.
